What to see and do in Calatagan
Several resort dot the town and mostly are pricey. Surrounded by sugar cane plantation this place has a set up of old hacienda town. I would say this is ideal for a quick weekend getaway nothing more. You can ride a jet ski, wake board or just sun bathe and enjoy quality time with the family.
I didn't like the beach though. Shallow water with lots of sea grass and infested with sea urchins. Not a good beach to swim. It just makes a good romantic weekend.
How to get there
From Manila head south via SLEX (South Luzon Express Way) or use the Aguinaldo highway. Any road that would bring you to Tagaytay would do. Make a Quick stop at Tagaytay for a quick meal and grocery and off you go. From Tagaytay City just follow the Tagaytay-Nasugbu highway and turn right when you reach Evercrest Gold and Country Club. From there you have two choices, either you take the road to the town of Tuy (which we did) or march on to Nasugbu-Lian Juction and turn left towards the town of Lian, Batangas.

On the way home we dropped by at Tagaytay Again to eat diner at Mahogany market for a bowl of bulalo (stewed beef bones and marrow). It was one good meal. Drop by Nuvali again for a slice of pizza then head home.
