Palawan (Underground River)

Honda Bay

I went there about three (3) years ago, the Underground River was not considered as one of the Seven Wonders of the World yet. So most of the info here are basically three years ago. I will try ask around and update as much as I can. By the way we traveled in a very large group so we opted to hire a travel company.

How to get there

Manila to Puerto Princesa via Plane

You can reach Puerto Princesa Palawan via

Cebu Pacific Air 

Air Philippines 

Philippine Airlines 

I'm not so sure with Zest Air.

Fare

Fare varies depending on season.

Here's tip, book atleast three months (3) or two months (3) before you travel.Most local airlines sell their tickets at ridiculously low. I would not pay above Php 2,000 for a one way trip to Palawan though.

Best time to travel:February. Why? Not so much local tourist and the weather is perfect (perfect meaning no rain).

DAY 1

*Arrival from Manila estimated travel time 1 hour and 45 mins.

*Quick Lunch*Island Hop- Honda Bay

*Hotel

Day 2

*Underground River Tour

Day 3-5

*Go to El Nido

Before going home, try dropping by at Palawan's Crocodile Farm, not that fancy but still a crocodile is a crocodile (but never buy pearl here).

You may want to drop by viet ville and try our their superb noodles. At the city of Puerto Princesa you will find a mall where they sell t-shirts and everything else (souvenirs, and yes including pearl) cheaper compared to crocodile farm.

Recommendation:
I would recommend you get a rental car with driver if you won't hire a travel agency. They would be also your tour guide. Palawan has excellent tourism industry where they implement strict rules on treatment of tourist.
