BORACAY ISLAND

Bask in the sun while playing the soft fine sand with your feet.
This is Boracay. Located in Visayas Island, South of Manila.
The popular part of the island is the white beach which is
divided into three (3) stations: staion 1, 2, 3. Later I will discuss
those stations.

How to get there
There are three (3) ways to get to Boracay.
1. Via boat Manila-Kalibo (I'm just guessing here-haven't tried yet)
2. Via RORO (I haven't tried that either-Ceres Bus to Pasay City)
3. Plane. You have two options here:

Kalibo International Airport
*Via KAlibo, Aklan
From Kalibo you have to take an aircon van (they charge per person around 150 pesos)to Municipality of Malay (Caticlan) and it would take atleast
or almost 2 hours of travel. The van will drop you off to the jetty port of Caticlan to Boracay Island. (I would not recommend a bus since they frequently stop. Like those buses in EDSA.)

Boracay Airport
                                                                                   *Via Caticlan (Boracay Airport)

Only small aircraft (propeller type) can land and fly here. So only cebu pacific, airphil and zest air service this airport. If you still have the energy to walk and don't carry alot of baggage, the jetty port is about 300 meters
from the airport. But if you want to take a Tricycle (please google the word), there are alot waiting outside
of the airport for Php 50.00 and Php 100.00 for a multicab (see google).

From Boracay jetty port you then have to take either a tricycle or a multicab.
about Php 25.00 per person or Php 100.00 if you want to have the tricycle by yourself
Not sure about the multicab though since when i first went there we we're a large group
so we paid it as a whole.

Total cost
Tricycle Airport     Php 50.00
Jetty                               25.00/pax
Terminal Fee:                50.00
environmental fee         50.00
tricycle boracay             25.00

This is why you need to know about stations in Boracay.
Station 1:
south-end of white beach. This is where some high end hotels (not all) are located.
There are bars and restaurants too. Less people at the beach often times. Expect to find higher hotel rates here. A few bars around but generally quite and tranquil.

Station 2:
Right smack in the middle of white beach. Here is where the party is. High end hotels, small inns, apartments, low class hotels, d' mall, all sort of restaurants aand fastfoods mostly located. Lots of people milling around, touts selling anything, and tourist hanging out.

Station 3:
North-end of White beach. There are big hotels here also but i would not stay here unless it's free.

What to do in Boracay:
Aside from frolicking around the beach there are activities available to occupy you.
*atv ride - i dont recommend this
*para-sailing
*island hop
*reef walk- do this activity in the morning
*scuba dive
*Fly fish
*Banana Boat ride
*or  just chill in the beach and party all night

Foods
There's alot of food to choose from and the most popular ones are the eat all you can sea foods. They consider Thursday night as ladies night so most of the food and drink are 50% off.
I would recommend their choriburger. It's a roast grilled native sausage place inside a hotdog
bun and then couple it with Jonas milkshake.
They also have this market near station 3- d' TALIPAPA you better check that one out.

Going Home:
Take a tricycle to the jetty port, pay the terminal fee (which I don't think we should), pay the ticket for the boat then off to Caticlan.

from there you can either take a tricycle again going to Caticlan Airport or take a van to Kalibo Airport.

Have fun and enjoy Boracay, because I surely did and will always come back every year.
